What cycling etiquette and safety advice should I be aware of?

The Crafted Classique is a non-competitive event (i.e. not a race) and should not be treated as such.

There are no road closures for the Crafted Classique, so you will be sharing the road with other vehicles. Please be mindful of other road-users, watch out for pedestrians crossing the road and single out on narrow and busy roads. Ride with courtesy and etiquette on the road (avoiding  incidents), communicate with others around you and only pass riders on the right. Please announce your presence should you approach a horse on the road.

You should adhere to the Highway Code at all times and ride no more than two abreast, excepting junctions, right turns and bends, when you should ride single file. Caution should be taken in narrow lanes and in particular around blind bends. Cautionary notices will be deployed where are is needed on route.

For more advice on cycling etiquette, check-out Road Cycling UK or Global Cycling Network for advice on cycling in a group.

Will the event be timed?

Yes. You will receive a timing chip at registration, giving you access to the official time, which will be ready online within hours of the finish (just remember to return the chip at the end of the ride). However, this is a non-competitive event so please don't treat the Crafted Classique as a race!

Should I report to event HQ post-ride?

Yes please. Please report to HQ upon finishing your ride or should you need to retire, contact us on 07921 492514.
